Clearspan Event Marquee for Prestigious Awards Event

Our client, a wedding and event marquee hire company based in Launceston, Australia, required a striking clearspan event marquee to secure a prestigious contract to host a national awards ceremony.

Industry leaders attended the event so a structure which showcased the breath-taking location was essential. It also needed to seat 800 people for the awards event.

Following a consultation period, during which HTS TENTIQ provided a range of party tents in four different locations, HTS TENTIQ was chosen to deliver a glass-fronted-marquee with extra height to ensure clear views of the impressive location. Having previously worked on numerous projects together, TENTIQ is the client’s preferred supplier.

Initially the clearspan event marquee was to be installed on the grass area; however, major works in the area had altered the topography so a new solution was needed. Collaboration between our client, the major stakeholders and engineers resulted in a decision to position the party tent just over the top of the pool. Over 100 tonnes of scaffolding was required to build the floor just above ground level.

The main marquee, an impressive 55.00m x 20.00m Höcker Large Marquee with solid walls and full glass frontage, was used to suspend all the production equipment and display local greenery. The roof featured solid panels with a clear panel through its centre. A further 30.00m x 6.00m structure was installed behind the main marquee to accommodate temporary kitchens.

To build over the pool, a much-loved public asset, and to minimise disruption to this beautiful location, HTS TENTIQ worked with the client and key stakeholders to create the shortest possible build and pack down time, whilst maintaining a safe workplace.

The location and event were so popular that guest numbers were extended to 850 with a further 75 front-of-house staff. The full glass wall enabled the guests to take in the naturally stunning surroundings, making the event a great success. The superior event marquee structure demonstrated Tasmania’s ability to deliver an exceptional event.
