Additional Dining and Event Space for Australian Hotel Restaurant

The Woolsthorpe Union Station Hotel, a country hotel near Warrnambool, Victoria, boasts a highly rated restaurant with growing demand for dining and hosting. Having undergone a full site renovation and play area redesign in 2024, the client wanted a new private function space for events and celebrations or be used as additional alfresco dining space when needed.

Known as the ”Atrium Function Room”, HTS TENTIQ designed, manufactured and installed the new marquee structure for the Woolsthorpe Union Station restaurant in the spring of 2024. The 9.50m x 11.20m Röder HTS GZ structure frames the gardens and playground with easy access for patrons and provides a clean connection to the existing dining space for additional alfresco dining or as a rentable event space.

The existing raised patio area was incorporated into the configuration with custom variable height section/bays. The temperature-controlled space was insulated with ISO wall panels and thermo-insulated roof system for ultimate control in the dining experience for the client.

Tinted glazing was installed on the northern and western facing walls for added privacy and shading throughout sunny weather. Additionally, non-standard dark trimmed ISO insulated panels as well as a fully anodised frame in a matching colour were used to match the glazed panels.

The new event space was built in just three days. HTS TENTIQ minimised disruption to the client throughout the build allowing the dining space to remain functional and the restaurant open.

The final solution utilised standard marquee and temporary structure products and components from HTS TENTIQ as much as possible for ease of further expansion and adaption in the future.

Overall, the client is immensely happy with their new dining and events space. Now fully serviceable, the space has already hosted a number of events and celebrations with many more on the books already!
