Event tent for a prestigious award ceremony
Requirements
Our client, a tent hire company for wedding and event tents from Launceston, Australia, required an impressive event tent in order to secure a prestigious contract to host a national award ceremony.
The event was to be attended by leading figures from the industry. For this reason, a building was required that showcased the impressive beauty of the surroundings and provided space for 800 participants at the award ceremony.
Following a consultation phase in which HTS TENTIQ presented a range of solutions for four different locations, HTS TENTIQ was commissioned to provide an event tent with a glass frontage and sufficient height to ensure an unobstructed view of the impressive surroundings. Following successful collaboration on previous projects, HTS TENTIQ is the client’s preferred supplier.
Solution
Originally, the event tent was intended to be erected on a lawn area. However, extensive site works altered the terrain, making a new solution necessary. In collaboration with our client, key partners, and engineers, the decision was made to construct the building directly over the swimming pool. More than 100 tonnes of scaffolding were required to create a floor level directly above ground level.
The main building, an impressive Höcker F-Series marquee with a footprint of 55.00 m x 20.00 m, solid walls, and a continuous glass frontage, served as a visual screen for production equipment while placing the local vegetation in the spotlight. The roof consisted of PVC sheeting, with the central sections being transparent. Behind the main building, an additional structure measuring 30.00 m x 6.00 m was installed to house the temporary building kitchen.
Due to the construction over a publicly well-used pool and in order to minimise disruption to this beautiful location, HTS TENTIQ worked closely with the client and key partners to complete the installation and dismantling as quickly as possible while ensuring safety throughout the works.
Benefits
The venue and the event were so popular that the number of guests was increased to 850 and the number of service staff by 75. Thanks to the glass frontage, guests were able to enjoy the impressive natural landscape, making the event a great success. The exceptional event tent demonstrated Tasmania’s ability to host a unique event.
