Prefabricated Workshop Building for College
HTS TENTIQ was approached by a reputable college in Northern England that needed a prefabricated workshop building to accommodate an increased volume of students for construction based courses. The workshop building was to be used as a stand-alone area for wet trade work and more practical based learning.
To ensure no delays for students the college sourced a project management company to handle the whole project on their behalf. Being aware of temporary prefabricated buildings and the advantages associated with cost and speed, the project management team very quickly made this recommendation. As part of the construction world, the project management team had high expectations in terms of a supplier but were impressed with the level of technical detail and knowledge HTS TENTIQ was able to demonstrate. The end prefabricated workshop building was specified as follows:
- Insulated building 15.00m wide by 25.00m long with a 3.20m wall height
- 2 x personnel door units
- 1 x steel roller shutter door unit
- 2 x runs of UPVC guttering including down-pipes
- Side and gable walls supplied in 40mm insulated composite cladding
- Roof and gable cover material supplied in industrial grade, air-filled white PVC coated fabric
The building was constructed within a week and in a tight space on a very busy fully operational college campus. HTS TENTIQ worked closely with the project management team to ensure a safe and efficient build that caused no disruption to the college or students.
With the extra facility on site the college can now expand their construction based learning as well as keeping the wet trade and practical lessons within a dedicated workshop area; one which more accurately reflects a true to life and authentic working environment.
