Requirements

Our customer, iSkate Ltd., was commissioned to construct and maintain the temporary ice rink at Warwick Castle for the annual event “Christmas at the Castle”. For this seasonal event, the management of the 1,100-year-old castle wanted the ice rink to become the perfect attraction. Providing a suitable yet spectacular tent structure was therefore crucial and essential.

iSkate contacted HTS TENTIQ with the task of delivering a functional and aesthetically pleasing temporary structure. The marquee was to be erected directly next to the open-air ice rink and provide space during the winter season for skate hire, a cosy café, and all facilities required for smooth operations.

Solution

HTS TENTIQ delivered the perfect solution for the temporary ice rink: an HTS Röder premium marquee. Not only did it accommodate everything required for the operation of the ice rink, but the structure made of black anodised material and white translucent roof membranes also offered a wide range of options for atmospheric ambient lighting. In addition to increased suspension loads for internal lighting systems, partition walls were installed to clearly separate staff and guest areas.

In less than a week, the marquee was erected. Assembly took place on a pre-prepared base that had been installed around the ice rink. This created a continuous, level surface – leaving plenty of time to install the festive decorations and lighting in time for the start of the event.

Benefits

The HTS TENTIQ structure, with its festive lighting and decorations, created a perfect winter wonderland atmosphere for all visitors throughout the entire season. Set against the backdrop of the 14th-century Guy’s Tower of the castle, the black powder-coated frame with matching gutter system almost blended into the darkness, making the entire setting appear even more atmospheric, without compromising functionality or durability.
