Permanent Marquee Installation at the English Heritage Steam Railway

An English Historic Steam Railway operating a 6km line through north England with beautifully restored Victorian and Edwardian carriages approached HTS TENTIQ with a problem. With a rich history dating back to 1888, the historic railway offers a unique heritage experience but as this demand for events, immersive experiences and private hire increased, the venue required a permanent marquee structure to:

As a first-time marquee buyer, the client partnered with HTS TENTIQ to deliver a high-quality, long-term solution.

HTS TENTIQ supplied a premium Röder HTS GZ Standard Marquee, designed and manufactured in-house at our German production facility. The structure was installed alongside the one of the train station platforms along the 6km route, creating a seamless extension of the venue.

• Structure Size: 15.00m wide x 25.00m long x 2.40m eave height
• Frame: Durable anodised aluminium A-frame construction
• Roof System: White external PVC with black interior lining for enhanced light control
• Walling: ABS panel walls (white exterior / black interior)
• Access Points: Glass double doors for efficient guest entry and exit

The black internal finish creates an ideal theatrical environment, making the marquee perfect for immersive events—even during brighter summer months.

With the order placed, HTS TENTIQ worked with the client to ensure a fast manufacturing and installation timeline of just seven weeks. This allowed the new permanent marquee to be fully operational by September 2024, having been installed by the client’s team using HTS TENTIQ’s expert guidance.

This efficient turnaround ensured the venue could quickly begin hosting events and generating revenue in the run up to the festive season.
