On-site storage of goods with HTS TENTIQ storage buildings

Requirements

A nationwide manufacturer of cleaning products required several storage buildings at its site. When the costs of off-site storage with a global logistics company became no longer sustainable for the company, it began searching for alternatives.

The construction of mobile storage buildings on site offered the advantage that the costs of off-site storage could be eliminated more quickly than if a more permanent solution with a steel or conventional building had been chosen. In addition to the faster-acting cost savings, the payback period for a mobile building would also be significantly shorter than for a permanent building. The contract for off-site storage was terminated and the serious search for a reliable supplier of an on-site storage building began.

Solution

The company carried out the usual cost comparisons, and although HTS TENTIQ was able to offer a custom-made, high-quality building at low ex-works prices, it was rather the initial response to the company’s enquiry that tipped the balance in favour of HTS TENTIQ temporary buildings.

There were major differences, particularly in the construction method, with only HTS TENTIQ relying on the safest approach using a concrete slab and anchoring with chemical resins in order to achieve the highest structural safety standards. In addition, HTS TENTIQ is one of the few companies that carries out structural calculations specifically for each site, rather than basing them on the general conditions of a region or country.

The two buildings manufactured, delivered and installed by HTS TENTIQ had the following features:

  • Two interconnected storage buildings with dimensions of 25.00 m x 30.00 m x 6.20 m and 15.00 m x 45.00 m
  • Single-skin PVC roof
  • Aluminium personnel doors and manual roller doors
  • Guttering system on the outer sides as well as a box gutter between the two buildings with downpipes
  • Designed and manufactured in accordance with the relevant site-specific structural calculations
  • Assembly time – 9 days

Benefits

The speed of delivery and installation meant that the customer was able to bring all stored products back to their own site even before the contract for off-site storage expired.

The second building was constructed next to a loading area that was regularly accessed by vehicles for loading and unloading. Owing to its many years of experience, HTS TENTIQ was able to work safely in this area despite these activities, enabling the customer to maintain normal operations throughout the entire construction phase.
