Prefabricated workshop building for a college
Requirements
HTS TENTIQ was contacted by a reputable college in northern England that required a prefabricated building as a workshop building to accommodate a growing number of construction students. The workshop building was intended to serve as a standalone area for wet construction work and practice-oriented learning.
Solution
In order to avoid any delays for the students, the college commissioned an external company to carry out the project on its behalf. The project management team was familiar with prefabricated buildings and their advantages in terms of cost and speed of construction, and quickly decided on this solution. The project management team itself works in the construction industry and therefore had high expectations of the supplier. HTS TENTIQ was able to impress the team with its technical expertise and details. The building was ultimately manufactured according to the following specifications:
- Insulated building with a width of 15.00 m and a length of 25.00 m, with a wall height of 3.20 m
- 2 staff doors
- 1 steel roller door
- 2 uPVC gutter systems with downpipes
- Side and gable walls with 40 mm insulated composite cladding
- Roof and gable covering made of high-performance, air-filled PVC-coated material in white
The building was erected within one week in a very confined space on the extremely busy college site during normal teaching operations. HTS TENTIQ worked closely with the project management team to ensure safe and efficient assembly, and to avoid causing any disruption to the college or the students.
Benefits
With the additional building on site, the college can now expand its construction curriculum and deliver wet construction courses and practical exercises in a dedicated workshop area that reflects a more natural and authentic working environment.
