Workshop for the maintenance of trains

Requirements

The request for a train maintenance hangar came from a customer in the United Kingdom who specialises in the manufacture of rolling stock. A workshop used for production at the site in the Midlands had been leased. When the lease for this building was taken over by another company, the customer had to find an alternative covered solution for their work on the trains. Naturally, the building had to be constructed over the tracks in order to enable the easy arrival and removal of the rolling stock.

Solution

The customer was already familiar with temporary buildings and workshops, as another railway company at the site was also using a temporary building from HTS TENTIQ for the same purpose. For this reason, the customer was able to contact HTS TENTIQ directly as the primary manufacturer without having to carry out time-consuming research or cost comparisons. As rapid implementation was important in order to avoid downtime, the direct route to the manufacturer was of invaluable importance. The following workshop for rolling stock was planned, manufactured and erected on site in just 4 days.

  • Maintenance hangar with a width of 10.00 m and a length of 25.00 m, with a wall height of 6.20 m
  • 1 staff door
  • 2 electric steel roller doors
  • UPVC guttering system with downpipes
  • Lighting
  • Insulated composite wall panels
  • Thermal roof made of high-performance, air-filled, PVC-coated material in white
  • Erection time – 4 days

Benefits

The waste management company was able to provide the hospital with a solution without compromising on quality or durability. Through the collaboration with one of the largest providers in the industry, the customer was able to benefit not only from the short lead time. Some providers of temporary buildings sell ex-rental stock in which components do not match and no longer come with any warranty. HTS TENTIQ, as usual, supplied a brand-new structure direct from the factory with full warranties on the key components and installation works. As all development stages, technical planning and manufacturing are carried out in-house, there is no one who knows the product better, which ensures high-quality construction, seamless project delivery and guaranteed after-sales service.
