Supermarket used in the medium term
Requirements
The customer required an attractive, pleasant and fully functional temporary supermarket so that sales could continue in full during the period of major renovation work on the existing store.
The temporary commercial building was only needed for 12 months and had to be erected at the same location while the renovation work was being carried out.
Solution
We provided the customer, using a 30.00 m x 45.00 m commercial building in the form of an insulated temporary building with an eaves height of 4.20 m, with a 350 m² sales area at short notice. To create a comfortable and suitable space for this important and busy public facility, the building was insulated with an inflatable thermal roof system and 70 mm thick side walls.
To transform the industrial character of the building into a more attractive space suitable for the public, we supplied and installed double-glazed side walls, an elaborate entrance area measuring 5.00 m x 10.00 m with two separate electric double doors, access ramps and external staircases, an integrated gutter system, and a shopping trolley bay.
The entire structure was built on a durable flooring system that was levelled using lasers to compensate for existing uneven ground surfaces.

As with all renovation projects, it is crucial not to lose momentum in operations or sales while the repair work is being carried out.
The temporary nature and flexibility of our buildings, as well as the financial options (purchase/rental/leasing), were fully utilised in this project, as no loss of revenue or customer migration occurred during the modernisation and improvement works on the existing building.
